It’s the Middle of the Year, What Are You Doing to Prepare for Employee Performance Review Season? Most companies have their annual reviews at the end of the year, or even in January of the next year, so I bet you think I am crazy for bringing up performance reviews in June. But think about it – how hard is it to remember everything that happened the year before during the holidays? At Teamphoria we have a few suggestions: Monthly Check-InsUtilize monthly check-ins between managers and direct reports to keep a log of accomplishments, goals, feedback, etc. This way at the end of the year when you go to take your annual review you have notes from the entire year. Peer Reviews Along with having manager/direct report monthly check-ins, allow for continuous feedback from peers. Peers and team members work closely day-to-day so allow for that peer-to-peer feedback throughout the year. Look to GoalsMake sure that throughout the year you are updating your goals. By keeping up to date with your goals, you will have everything you need to complete your reviews at the end of the year. Freshen Up Your ReviewsDon’t keep the same review format, people will get bored taking the same review year after year. Freshen it up a bit by checking out some of our review templates.
